Well, well, well!

So, guess what? I am at school today. My class was cancelled, but I came anyway. I had a meeting with my supervisor at 10:15, so that's when I got here. But guess what? She's not here...go figure! Another reason I decided to come was to do some work on an assignment that is due Monday night. I needed to check out a video of a stuttering evaluation from my professor, but guess what? She's not here either! So, what was the point of even coming today? Did I mention that it is a friggin' monsoon outside? I even weathered the storm to get work done, but it seems that I won't be getting much done because none of my professors/supervisors are here! ::Sigh!:: I'd just go home, but knowing my luck, as soon as I leave, one of them will arrive. Man! I'm miffed. So much for being productive and trying to overcome my procratination tendencies. Ha!

Comin' Atcha from my New "Pooter!"

Well, its my first post officially created on my brand new apple iMac. Ya know, life is much simpler and easier with this wonderful creation!

Anyway, last night I got to use Audio Chat for the first time through iChat. It was pretty cool. Matt showed me some cool features that I hadn't come across yet. I tell ya, I'm learning somthing new everyday about this machine! It's one great piece of work. Also, I was shown how to publish my iCal. My schedule is now public! When I figure it out, I'll have a link on the left side bar so you can see what's goin on!

Yesterday was a decently productive day, it seems. I got quite a bit done! In fact, I think I'll have my stuff ready to turn in this evening (it's due by 11:00 am every Thursday). My class on Thursday has been cancelled, so, if I have everything done by today, there is no need for me to come to school at all on Thursday. So, I'll have an extra extended weekend! Hopefully it will be a nice one!

Anyway, I've gotta get to school...what am I doing playing on the computer? It's just fun, I guess! :)

Ciao!

It has Arrived!!!

This morning after I got out of the shower (and had gotten dressed), the doorbell rang (it was about 8:15). My first thought was, "who's ringing the door bell at 8:15?" My second thought was, "GASP! Is my computer here?" I peeked out the window and saw the glorious Fed Ex truck and got excited like a little school girl. I ran to the front door shouting, "My computer is here!" Being 24 years old, you'd think I'd act a little more grown up about it...but I didn't, and I'm not ashamed either! :) My new computer is an absolute beaute (pronounced: byoot)! I didn't have time to open it and set it all up, because I had to finish getting ready and head to school (where I'm at now). So maybe I'll have time tonight. I need to purchase a USB drive so I can transfer a lot of my files from my old computer to my brand new Apple iMac! :) Anyway, I guess that's all I have to say for now! Peace in the middle east! hahaha!

Is it ValentiMes? ;)

Well, a couple of years ago a friend pointed out that a lot of people confuse the word Valentine. He said that he's noticed many say, "Happy ValentiMes Day" instead of "Happy ValentiNes Day." I laughed at the thought...but...

Just yesterday, after church, a group of friends and I went out to eat for lunch. Of course the holiday came up, and across from me sat a fellow 24 year old. In the conversation I did notice that he said "ValentiMes." Taken aback by what I heard, I asked, "Did you just say ValentiMes?" He of course replied with, "well, whatever" which was followed by a slight chuckle from us all.

And today, during therapy, a client of mine (7 year old girl) also said "ValentiMes." So there's two that I've spotted. Maybe my friend is correct in his statement. A lot of people do say "ValentiMes." How strange is that? That many people say it incorrectly. Oh well...

Happy ValentiMes Day to you all! :)

PS - My new apple iMac isn't in yet...it should've come in today. I've called my house like 3 times...still no iMac. Hopefully it will arrive tomorrow.

Horrific Hiccups!

Today has been nice. I got a good night's sleep, and didn't have to rush through getting ready for church this morning. It has been raining all day! So after lunch, I took about a 2 hour nap...it was lovely. My cat, Felix, slept there beside me...he's so cute, and soft, and loveable...I just love that cat! Unfortunately, the hiccups I got at lunch decided to resurface after my nap, so I'm sitting here trying to fight it out! Be strong, Staci! Don't give up! You can do it! (HICCUP!) Sigh...they'll leave eventually! Anyway, its a little after 5:00, and I have leadership class at 6:00, worship practice at 7:00, and Late Night service at 8:00, so I'd better go get ready. La(HICCUP)ter!

My Moody Monday

Well, let's be honest with each other. Every female has to deal with a monthly cycle. There's no beating around the bush with this one. So with that said, today I didn't want to do anything. (Part of the "moodiness" of it I guess.) I didn't want to get up, didn't want to have clinics and for sure didn't want to go to my night class. But, I got up anyway (an hour and a half later than I wanted to...but don't worry, I wasn't late), I had therapy with all my patients, and skipped my night class, why? Because I didn't want to go. Simple as that. As I've said before, the professor grates my nerves, and I didn't feel like sitting through 2 1/2 hours of listening to her talk. So all of that preps this...

As I was leaving after my 3:00 patient, it was about 4:00. It had been raining earlier so the ground was nice and wet. I was wearing my brand new (had them about a couple months now) black slacks, a dressy shirt, and my black sandals, which obviously have no traction whatsoever. (Ok Nettie, brace yourself!) I walked across the parking lot to cross the street. No cars were in sight (except for the ones in the parking lot) and I didn't see anyone around. I had my backpack on, an extra bag full of workbooks, my purse, my cup of water and my keys. Needless to say, my hands were full. I took two steps across the street and midway my right foot took a step, and as it hit the ground, it kept sliding, and sliding, and sliding, until my left knee slammed into the rocken asphalt street. I instantly stood back up, looked down, and saw a nice little hole worn through the knee of my favorite black slacks. Everyone of my toes were red and slightly scraped. As I limped back to my car (leaving my pride in the street), I fought back the tears of the physical pain I was feeling. (My goodness it hurt so stinkin' bad!) I threw my things into the back seat, got in and started the car (cue the tears). I pulled up my pant leg and the sight of a badly scraped and slightly bloody knee made the tears flow more freely. ::Breathe in, breathe out:: I gained my composure and then drove home.

So...moral of the story? A crappy mood (such as the one I had about my night class) will come back to bite you in the butt! (Or should I say knee?)

My attitude is better now...still upset about the hole in my pants, but I'll just purchase a new pair! At least I can laugh at it now.

That's all for now folks! Have a good one!

Turbulent Tuesday

Well, today is very rainy. It rained yesterday, and it is raining again today. I really don't mind the rain, its just when the wind blows so hard, and its so cold....it makes it hard to even open up your umbrella.

There are a lot of people sick. Two out of nine of my classmates, and one of my supervisors are out ill. Yesterday, I had a patient come who was sick earlier that morning. He still came to therapy, and I'm hoping I don't catch anything! I can't afford to miss any classes, plus, being sick is no fun. As one of my friends would say, "ACK!"

I have class in about 15 minutes. Its a class about neurogenic disorders (affecting speech and/or language in some way). I really enjoy that class. I've always been interested in the "science-y" aspects of my field. Another class I'm taking is a swallowing class. We're learning the fine details of normal swallows as well as abnormal swallows. It's very interesting as well. My other class (the dreadful one on Monday nights), is Stuttering. It's somewhat interesting, but the professor kinda gets on my nerves (long story).

Anyway, I'm gonna get some of my work done before I head off to class. Adios!
