My New Car!!!

Oh. My. Gosh.

I can't believe it! After all this time that I have been waiting, I have finally purchased a brand new car!!! AHHH!! I'm so stinkin' excited...you have no idea! And it's perfect timing...right before Christmas and my birthday (Tues, Dec 27th...don't y'all forget now...ya hear?)!

Anyway, here's the story...

I was going to wait until August to get a new car (b/c that's when I graduate and get a job makin' the big bucks), but circumstances arose and I was given the opportunity to buy a new car.

My sister was driving my car (b/c hers was in the shop). Some lady drove into the side of her in a parking lot. This lady's insurance covered it since it wasn't my sister's fault. So the check her insurance cut me was close to $2,500. So I was excited because I thought I was going to get a new side & bumper on my '97 Honda Civic! Then my dad mentioned that we could sell the Civic for about $1,000 and use the money to make car payments on a new car until I graduate. Of course I loved this idea. Plus, since the Civic had over 125,000 miles on it, I wouldn't have gotten that much for it had it been fixed...so I gotta pretty sweet deal!

So, I looked and looked for what I liked....and finally found it. Friday we went to make a deal, but they didn't have the one I wanted, so they had to negotiate with another dealer, etc, etc, etc. So, last night, we got the call: my car was ready to pick up! Oh man, its sooo pretty! I love it, I love it, I love it.

So you wanna know what it is? I thought so. It's a lovely white 2006 Chevrolet Equinox. There's a possibility you haven't heard of this car...that's because they didn't come out until 2004 or 2005 or something. Anyway, it's the LT2 model with light tan leather interior. Wow, it’s so nice. I can hardly believe that it belongs to me! It's really exciting. I'll be taking some pictures soon for your viewing pleasure of course!

Alright people. I'm not sure if I'll be posting again before Christmas, so if I don't you guys & gals have a great Christmas, and a wonderfully Happy New Year! (And in between those two, I'll be having a Happy 25th Birthday!)

San Diego Part 2

I know, I know. I've been slackin' off with the posting lately. But you see, school is crazy, and I've finally finished all my assignments!

So, I know you've been dying for the second installment of my San Diego trip, so it has finally arrived. Here it is ladies and gents! My trip to the world-renown San Diego Zoo!!!

Koala
Aw, look how cute this Koala bear is while sleeping!

There are only two zoos in the US that have Panda bears. So of course I had to get some pictures. They seemed smaller than I thought they would be. And it looked like it was someone dressed up in a Panda costume walking around out there. It was weird, but definitely neat to see.

Panda
"Its time for your close up!"

To my surprise, the most enjoyable animal to watch was this friendly and very playful polar bear. I think I got some pretty good shots of him. Of course, these were taken through glass, so thats why they look scratchy.

Polar Bear 1
He came right up against the glass for us...it was so fun to watch him!

Polar Bear 2
He looked right towards me! He's so cute...and kinda looks like a big wet dog. Don't ya think?

Anyway, that's all the pictures from the zoo that I feel are worth posting. I did make a video of my San Diego trip. Its about 10 minutes long. Hopefully I'll get a DVD burner for Christmas, and I'll be able to watch my movie on the big screen TV!

Until next time...

Okay, wow...

So, my life feels like it's so crazy right now. So much stuff is going on. I'm actually surprised that my head is still attached!

I have this HUGE test tomorrow in this ridiculously stupid class. There are like 150 vocabulary terms, and 10 essay questions. And its not like the terms are easy words like "telephone" and "breakfast" (don't ask where those words came from...I have no idea). Its words like "Reactive Arrangements Effect." Who comes up with this crapola? Man, its tough stuff. And a lot of it starts to overlap, and it becomes really confusing. So anyway, to study, I took the day off from my internship, and I've been studying ALL DAY LONG! I got to Gina's around 9:30 so we could study together. I didn't leave her house until 6:00. How insane is that? And guess what? I'm headed to church here in a bit, and I'll be studying again tonight after church. I guess this is what graduate school is all about, huh?

Other news...

So a friend of mine from school (Lauren) has "set me up" with one of her husband's friends. Lauren is a really good friend, and she knows me pretty well, so she wouldn't set me up with a dud. Anyway, he's a Christian, and a musician. In fact, he's a worship leader for his church, and travels the world ministering. He grew up around ministry because his dad was a pastor, etc. So, Lauren gave this guy my email address. We've communicated through email, and he seems really nice. I am taking things very slowly though. I'm in NO rush whatsoever. Anyway, not sure if this will go anywhere, but I guess we shall see.

Change of topic...

I know you are all dying for the next installment from my trip to San Diego, but no time for that now. I'll post it after the test on Thursday. I've got to head to church! Later!

San Diego Part 1

Okay, well I've created a movie on iMovie with my pictures and video clips from the San Diego trip, and its almost 10 minutes long. So, obviously, I have a ton of pictures. So I've decided to post Part 1 and Part 2. Don't worry, I'm not showing every picture I took, or else there would be 10 parts instead of only two. Part 1 will include pictures taken around San Diego, while Part 2 will contain pictures from the infamous San Diego Zoo.

Bridge
Taken at the bay at Seaport Village

Pool with Palm Trees
This was a pretty pool that was shallow with palm trees in it. I wanted to walk around in the pool, but there were "No Wading" Signs...bummer.

Downtown View
View from the upper floor of the convention center (it was probably about 4 or 5 stories high). There's the trolley we took every day (we got to be pros at public transportation).

On a street in San Diego
Gina accidentally took the picture before I was ready, but I decided to keep it because I just wanted to capture the beautiful trees that lined this street.

Balboa Park
The buildings in Balboa Park were amazingly beautful! (I look so small!!!)

Well, that's all for now folks. Stay tuned for the pictures from the zoo!

Happy Late Thanksgiving!

Hey everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. My family drove up to the DFW area to spend time with extended family on my mom's side. We had a great time! Tons of food and lots of laughter!

My San Diego trip was absolutely amazing...I had a wonderful time! No worries! There are pictures to come soon!

Well, I've got to go. I'm finishing up some Christmas shopping online, and I've got to get some school work done. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

PS - Go buy War of the Worlds! I just watched it for the first time on our new jumbo widescreen TV. It was awesome!

Can't Wait!!!

Okay, so tomorrow I fly out of Houston and head to San Diego, California! I'm so stinkin' excited! You have no idea! I'm going with a really good friend of mine, Gina, and we're gonna have a blast. We're going up there for the ASHA Convention, but we're treating it more like a vacation.

Also, guess what? Coldplay has announced a winter leg of their tour!!! So if you can remember, I was all bummed out because Hurricane Rita cancelled the September show. But I now have a second chance to see them! I'm happy about that!

I've got some great things to look forward to, and I can't wait! :) Speaking of which...

My birthday is a little over a month away (December 27th). I'll be turning 25. How crazy is that? I'm only 5 years away from turning 30. Man, time flies when you're having fun, doesn't it? :) Anyway, I've never really had a great birthday bash or anything. So, I'd like to do something fun this year, and it looks like I'll have to plan it all myself (which is fine). I was thinking of doing something on New Years Eve (Sat night) and treat it like a joint party (...my birthday/new years). I'm not really sure if that will jive, but maybe. Plus, I'm not really sure what I could do, or where to have it. Any suggestions or tips?

Alright. I've got things to do. Finish laundry, finish packing, run errands...man, I've gotta go. I'll see you all on the flip side!

Whatta Weekend!

So I had a really great weekend! I had the opportunity to escape life and went out-of town to visit some old friends! It was quite a journey. I left Friday afternoon around 3:00. I wasn't really looking forward to the four hour trip, but I knew I would be glad I took it, once I arrived in Quitman, Texas.

Oh, and I had an experience on the way up there. I'll tell you about it. I was in the left lane, and a big monster white pick-up truck was in the right. We were slowing down as we began to enter the next hick town on this trip. I look ahead and see something gray dart out in front of this white truck, and then BAM! This unknown creature gets hit, and flops over in my lane, and I had to swerve to miss it. It totally shocked me, especially because when I got closer, I saw it was a cat. It was really sad...Anyway, that was just a side note.

I'm borrowing my parents digital camera for the time being, which means pictures are here! Hopefully I'll get a new camera for Christmas or my birthday.

Anyway, I went up to Quitman to visit my good friend Heidi. She just had another baby, Kelaiah Faith Lee! She's the cutest little thing! Wouldn't you agree?
Kelaiah Faith Lee

I snapped another photo with big sister, Moriah giving Kelaiah sweet kisses!
sweet kisses

Here is one of me holding her...she's so tiny!!!
Me and Kelaiah

On Saturday, as I was getting ready, Moriah (along with Isaiah and Elijah) were huddled around me as I put on my makeup. Apparently, they were enamored with the whole process. Moriah wanted me to do her makeup, so of course, I indulged in making up a precious 3-year old child!
Made up Moriah

I had a great time visiting with Heidi. Man, we go way back. I really enjoyed seeing her beautiful children, including her new bundle of joy, Kelaiah.

For the end of my trip, I hung out with a long-time friend, Bryan. (We were wanting to hang out when I was up there during our evacuation, but we got to go home quicker than originally thought. So we didn't have time to hang out.) We watched a movie (which was hilarious), and ordered some pizza. (Thanks again for the pizza, Bryan!) I had a good time.

Oh, and the gas prices are totally lower in the Quitman area. (Even though I don't really know you, Kent, this is for you, because I know how much you enjoy hearing about gas prices...hahaha) Here in Beaumont, they have lowered, but are still around $2.35-$2.45 a gallon. Further north, I saw some around $2.15, and saw one at $2.03. But the lowest I saw was at the Diamond Shamrock in Lindale, Texas. It was $1.99 a gallon! I haven't seen gas prices that low since...well dang, I don't remember the last time they were that low. Anyway, I pulled out my camera, and snapped a picture behind me hoping to catch it on camera to prove I wasn't making this up! The picture is a bit fuzzy because my friggin' tint job on my rear window is bubbling up. Ha!
Gas Prices

I left Saturday night around 8:15, and at about 9:45 the Sandman was hitting me upside the head. Man! I was seriously thinking of stopping to get a hotel room, because I didn't know if I would make it. But I didn't really want to stop, so I just kept going. I blared "Hillsong United" a couple times over. I spent some quality time with God on the way home. It was nice. And to top it off, I saw a shooting star! It was awesome!

Ahhhh...whatta life!

Ya know, I've been feeling great lately. I have a wonderful family. My sister is my best friend. I've got some great friends at school who totally have my back, and will always be there for me. I have a great church that I love! And my God is an awesome God!!! (He reigns from heaven above, with wisdom, power and love.....you know the song...sing along!)

Oh, I almost forgot. I'm totally going to San Diego in about 2-3 weeks! I can't wait! It's gonna be a blast!

Is it just a load of crap?

So, I got to thinking tonight. I was lying in bed, trying to go to sleep early because basically, I was tired of thinking. But when I lie in bed, that's the time when I think the most. There's no one to talk to (except God), and the only sound is the ceiling fan above me. So, what should have been a retreat from my thoughts tonight, was more of an encounter.

I couldn't sleep; my thoughts wouldn't quit coming. So I finally decided to get up, and make a post on the old bloggeroo hoping it would be a cathartic release of my thoughts to ease my mind into a sweet sleep...

The famous saying, "It is better to have loved and lost, than to never have loved at all" was on my mind as I laid in bed tonight. Now, previously, I had always thought that saying was "oh, so poetic." It is a romantic thought, isn't it? Or is is just a load of crap? I'm beginning to think more of the latter...it's just a load. I mean, if you've never loved at all, you wouldn't know what it is like to really love someone, but yet, the painful feeling of rejection would be unfamiliar. I do agree that it is a wonderful feeling to be in love, but then to feel the hurt of loss, is quite brutal to the heart.

So, I'm thinking of ditching the old poetic saying. I'm leaning more toward "ignorance is bliss..."

It's Back to School for Stace!

So, school has officially started back up since Hurricane Rita hit. No one knew the severity of the situation prior to the storm. The last class day before Rita struck, our teachers said, "well, hopefully we won't have to evacuate. But if class is cancelled Thursday, y'all have a safe weekend." (assuming we'd be back the following week...) On the contrary, we missed almost an entire month of school. Which some would say, "HECK YES!" But no, there was no "heck yes-ing" around here. That counts as our winter break, so we have classes until the 22nd of December. Which is a pretty big bummer. I always enjoyed having the three weeks off before Christmas...it helps me get into the holiday mood. I have a feeling that Christmas will be here before I know it, and then BAM! You've got carolers on your doorstep singing "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" hoping you'll invite them in for some hot cocoa. Wait...it's not longer 1922...I probably WON'T see the carolers... Either way, just don't bring me any "Figgy Pudding" because it will just go to waste. I've never tasted it, but I'm sure I won't like it...

Just Another Post

Okay, so after reading Matthew's comment on my previous post, I feel a little bad. I didn't mean to sound vicious! So, I apologize if you were offended by my post. Matthew was right...I should have invited him to church. That would've been the right thing to do.

Okay, so let's play "Guess that Movie!" I'll give a movie line, and you comment with the answer.

So here is the line: "That was TOTALLY WICKED!"

The first person to correctly respond will be the winner!!! What will they win you ask? Well, the title of "WINNER" of course!

Sleep well mi compadres!

Just for Fun

Okay, so I have some fun things to share with you all. I cannot take credit for finding the first two. I have to give credit where credit is due. Thanks Charlie for sharing these cool links with everyone on your site. I thought I'd share them as well!

The first link is Mansion Impossible. It's pretty darn cool. I had fun with it last night. Go ahead, click the link, read the instructions, and play away! See how well you do!

This next one is absolutely hysterical. I've already watched it like 5 times, and laughed each time. In fact, I'll probably watch it again after publishing this post. "He was injured!" HA! This one has to be my favorite! You'll probably agree after watching it!

Man oh man! I don't know what to say to prep this one, except that, I'm blessed! You know why? Because I'm not Sarah!

For this one, I actually searched for it across the internet. You all remember the apple commercials a while back that had everyday people (as well as celebrities) talking about their switch to apple? (I'm right there with them! I love my iMac G5!) Anyway, you may remember the fame of Ellen Feiss. Her commercial seemed a bit off and it was rumored that she showed up on set under the influence, if you know what I mean...and I think you do! HA! Also, they have all the commercials up (including the celebrity switchers), so if you want to check them out, go right ahead.

I remember seeing this one a while back. I thought it was pretty funny! The Antiboredom Campaign put together a pretty funny clip!

If you think farting is great comedy, then you have to check this one out! It's a good one! "My feet are on fire!"

Lee Children!

Okay, enough about the hurricane and all that jazz! Like I said in my previous post, I got to visit Heidi and her family while in Quitman.

Her daughter, Moriah looks just like her! She's a doll! I didn't even tell her to pose, this just came naturally to her! HA!

Moriah

Moriah then wanted to play with the camera, so I let her hold it and tried to help her take a picture, and here is what came out of that! HAHA!

Staci by Moriah

Here is a picture of her youngest boy, Elijah! He looks nothing like any of her other children (except for the curls). His red hair is sooo cute. He looks just like Heidi's dad. Anyway, he was really close to the camera...so adorable!

Elijah

Lastly, here is a picture of her three beautiful children, Isaiah, Moriah & Elijah. Isaiah is 5, Moriah is almost 3, and Elijah will be 2 in February.

Trio

Heidi is actually due to have another at the end of this month! They don't know if it's a boy or a girl. My prediction is that it will be a girl! I can't wait to find out!

See Rita's Fury!

I told you all I would have some photos for you to see. Don't worry, I won't bore you with ALL of them, but I'll just give you a few.

First I'll show you some pictures of our house/neighborhood. Here is the tree in our backyard that blew over on top of our house, but it didn't do any damage, so that's good. I think the high wind pulled off a roof cap (or whatever those things are called), but that's minor...no biggie!

Tree

This picture was taken from the back porch, and as you can see we are able to look into our neighbor's backyards. Rita blew over all our fences.

Backyard

But not all was lost with the down fences. This day we did not have electricity, and it was in the upper 90's outside. Needless to say, we were all beyond overheated. Our neighbor's weren't home, so we decided to use their pool to cool off!

Neighbor's pool

Here is a picture in Kountze, TX taken off Hwy 69 headed south into Lumberton. As you can see, one of the traffic lights is down, and to the left, you'll see some building damage.

Kountze, Texas

And lastly, here is a picture of Hollywood Theaters on Dowlen Road in Beaumont, Texas. Yikes!

Hollywood Theater

Even though I was pulled away from my home for over a week, I did have a good time in Quitman. I got to see my best friend, Heidi and her adorable family. I took some pictures of her little cutie pie children, and I'll be sharing them with you in an upcoming post. Talk to you all soon!

Away from Home

Hey Everyone!

I know you've all been dying for a new post on my blog! (especially you, Charlie! haha! I got your email, so here is a post for ya!)

I've got some photos of my house, my church and some things around the city of Beaumont. Right now, my family (with the exception of Nate) is in a cabin on Lake Quitman, in Quitman, Texas (about 4 hours north of where I currently reside in Lumberton. It's also where I grew up). We only have a temporary dial-up internet service, so uploading those photos and then posting them to the blog would take an eternity. We're heading back to Lumberton on Monday because our neighborhood actually has power. The city of Beaumont, on the other hand, does not. I think some gas stations are receiving fuel, and maybe some grocery stores are opening up, so hopefully we won't feel TOO stranded there. Anyway, when I get back to Lumberton, I'll share the photos with you all.

Lamar University is extending the semester by a couple of weeks or so into the final exams week, and the finals will just be on the last class day. I was concerned about all this because I didn't wan't the semester to be postponed, which would delay my August graduation...which would NOT have been cool. But all is well on that front.

Anyway, we've got some old friends headed to the cabin for a snack and game night! It should be fun...in fact, they're pulling up right now! Hope everyone is well, and I'll be talking to you all soon!

Time to Evacuate!!!

Well, looks like Rita has taken an unwanted turn right towards Beaumont, Texas! So, my family is packing up pictures, movies, clothes, etc. We're evacuating tonight late or very very early in the morning, hoping to avoid as much traffic as possible. I really don't like this at all. My home is where I always feel safe, and now, that has changed. My home is no longer a place of refuge. It's a bit frightening. It's such a strange feeling to have to choose what to pack, what to put in the tops of closets, and what to leave as is. I think that we're far enough north not to receive much wind damage, but the torrential downpour for 4 days straight or so may cause some pretty serious flooding! I'm praying our home is resistant to this natural disaster that's heading our direction! Please keep us and everyone in this hurricane's path in your prayers!

Rita, Rita, Rita!

Well, Hurricane Rita is lookin' awfully fierce, and its headed to Texas. It seems that the projected path has moved a bit westward compared to where it was headed last night. Last night it showed the path covering the Texas/Louisiana border, and into Louisiana, but the projected path I saw a few minutes ago, was on the inside of Texas, not touching the border. You know what's the biggest bummer? I'm supposed to go see Coldplay this Saturday night in Houston, and it's not looking too good right now. Crap! I've been waiting for this concert for like 3 months now. Oh well, life goes on...there's not much you can do about it, I guess!

Hope everyone stays safe during the storm! Love to all!

Fine, I'll make another post...

Alright Matty Bell, this post is for you. (By the way, does anyone else call you Matty, or am I the only one?) You said I haven't posted in a while, so here it is. A post just for you! AND! You should feel extra special because I even put a link to your blog on my sidebar.

By the way, I tried to make a comment on your most recent post, and it was going crazy. I clicked the "blogger" radio button, but there was no where for me to sign in, etc. As I clicked "Submit post" the fields showed up to sign in, but then disappeared. It was nutty. But anyway, since this post is dedicated to you, I'll put my comment here on my blog...

"Aw, Matty! You're going to be a great youth pastor. I'm so proud of you!"

PS - Thanks for the new software, I'm about to load it up right now!

Laura Moved Out!!!

Well a couple of weeks ago, my younger sister, Laura moved out of our house. It was exciting for her, and a little bit sad for the rest of us. I didn't cry or anything, but I miss her not being in the same house. I don't get to see her as often as I used to, and I don't really like that so much! But her little apartment is really cute. I'm proud of her.

I thought this picture was hilarious. I don't think Mom and Dad were ready to let her go! What do you think? hahaha!

Laura Movin' Out

I miss seeing you everyday, Laura! I love you!

Trip to Keller

About a week and a half ago I decided to go visit grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins up the the Dallas/Fort Worth area. I showed up at my mom's parents (aka Mawmaw & Pawpaw) unexpected so I could surprise them! They were very surprised! I stayed with Mawmaw & Pawpaw, and got to see most of my cousins, and their children (the 2nd cousins). I had a great time!

Here is a shot of me and Pawpaw...

me & Pawpaw

And of course, here is one of me and Mawmaw...

me & Mawmaw

One day during my trip we went to my Aunt Linda's house for lunch. Much to my surprise they have a pet from the wild who comes to their back sliding glass door wanting food. I look over and there is a squirrel that has her little paws on the glass looking in as if she was saying, "Hey, I'm here, can you give me some food now?" It was hilarious! I had never seen anything like that in my life! They opened the sliding glass door and she came INTO the house to take the piece of bread out of their hands. She stepped back outside and nibbled on the bread right there at the back door. It was kind of sad though because she had some deformed bottom tooth. It was hook-like and as she would bite, the tooth would hit her in the nose. Needless to say, because of the tooth deformity, her nose was also mishaped. I also took some video footage of her eating. If you'd like to see it, let me know and I'll email it your way! Here is a picture of her right before her meal time!

Pet Squirrel

On my last day I got to go out to lunch at Olive Garden with a bunch of my family! Here is a picture of me and my cousin, Amy.

Me & Amy

And from left to right is my cousin Shelby, Tiffany (my cousin Jason's wife), and me!

Shelby, Tiffany & Me

Man! I think Shelby must go to the tanning bed, and well, Tiffany has been living in Florida where she gets a lot of sun, and poor ole Staci...she's just looking kinda pasty! (At least compared to the other two in that photo!) I didn't realize how non-tan I'd gotten! Ha! I guess I'll see what I can do to get a little brown! :)

Hope everyone has had a great weekend! Tomorrow is Monday, and I'm excited! I get to go to my internship site and work with "chillens" all day long! Can't wait! I love it!!! :)

For Cryin' Out Loud!

Geez man! What is with this? You may be thinking....huh?!?! Yeah, figures. I'm just feeling BLAH and I don't like it. And today makes it twice this week that I've felt like this. But no worries! I'm fine!

On the bright side I did start my intership this semester at Lumberton ISD. I really like it so far! The days go by really fast and it's so rewarding to see all the different children and know that you're doing what you can to improve their life.

Anyway, check out comment #3 on the post below this...now I'm getting SPAM on my blog...what the crud? I wish I knew how to delete it...oh well. So anyway, I turned on word verification when someone makes a comment so that the stupid spam software won't be able to post comments any longer.

Another Quitman Trip

So my sister, Laura and I took a trip to Quitman this past Wednesday and Thursday. My brother's band, The Red Airplanes had a gig at our old church there in Quitman. I didn't take any pictures of Nathan's band playing, but I took some of him and some old friends from High School. Here is one of Bryce, David, Nathan & Lauren.

Bryce David Nathan Lauren

Some of my favorite pictures I took where taken on Highway 69 South headed back to Lumberton. There is some pretty scenery, and some old towns you drive through.

On the Road 1

On the Road 2

There is a man traveling by foot on this road. I didn't notice him until after I took the picture...kinda weird.

On the Road 3

One of the small neat towns along this drive is Wells, Texas. Here are a couple of photos I took out of the passenger window while my sister drove...

Wells, Texas

This is an old brick building with the doors boarded up, but there is no roof, and well, you just have to look at the picture. I've always thought it was a cool old building. It's the Chevy building...as I've always called it.

Hope everyone has a great day! :)

Kenan's Birthday Party!

So last weekend we had a party for Kenan's 27th Birthday! We cooked out hamburgers & hotdogs! We had a big cookie cake to devour! And we even had homemade vanilla ice cream with Reese's peanut butter cups blended in! YUM!!! We also had a good time sharing stories and playing Catch Phrase!

Here's Kenan with the tasty cookie cake!

Kenan with Cake

How about a round of Catch Phrase? Anyone? Looks like Kenny (Kenan's dad) is enjoying it!!!

Catch Phrase

And well, you have to have picture taken with the birthday boy himself!!!

Hope you had a grand birthday Kenan! :)

"Chuck E. Cheese's...Where a Kid Can be a Kid!"

Who doesn't love this place? I mean, you show up with a couple of kids, blow your money in about an hour, and walk away with a candy bracelet, a temporary tattoo and a plastic frog as your prizes. All that for 20 bucks! What's not to love?

No really, it is a great and fun place to take kids. In fact, I got to take Katie & Staci the other day. These two girls are fraternal twins, and I've babysat them since they were born. I love them as if they were my own little sisters! They are some of the best girls you'll ever meet!

Now introducing Miss Katie! :)

Wow, I Need to Make a New Post Already!

I apologize to those who are addicts of my blog. I haven't posted in a couple of weeks or so. You see, I have wireless internet issues in my house. I've got the antenna and the router, but for some reason, it doesn't reach into my room, so I have to bring my computer into the dining room to get reception. So my computer goes back and forth from my room to the dining room (or breakfast room...whichever).

So a couple of weeks ago, a good friend of mine got married....now she is Mrs. Lauren Sachitano. Here is a picture I took at the dress rehearsal. It's a really good picture of her and Brian, but the quality of the picture isn't great...so for that, I apologize.

Brian & Lauren

Here is a picture of the now Mrs. Sachitano and myself also taken at the dress rehearsal.

Me & Lauren

For some reason, I didn't get a lot of pictures of the occasion...anyhow, I hope you all enjoyed the ones I did get.

Welp! That's all I got for now! Until I post again...

Nate's 23rd Birthday!

Last weekend we celebrated my brother, Nathan's 23rd birthday! Instead of cake, we had apple pie, one of Nathan's favorites.

Nate with Apple Pie

Of course we had to take a family photo...it's tradition after all! I think our goofy side came out in this picture. What do you think?

Family Photo

Kenan was gone on his Emmaus Walk, so he didn't get to attend, but his gift was present! To prep his gift, here's a quick story...

Nathan used Laura's CHI iron, and it turned into this family feud because Laura didn't want Nathan's nasty hair products all over her brand new CHI...which is understandable. So, Kenan thought it would be funny to get Nathan a CHI...it was a good one!

All in all, Nate seemed to have a good birthday! He got some pretty sweet gifts, and it was really great spending time with my family.

I forgot about "Forfa July!"

Well well well...looks like Staci forgot to post the only two pictures she got to take on "Forfa July!" Kenan and I went downtown to Riverfront park and moseyed around a bit. There was a really cool jazz band playing, and the lady singing had a great voice! Mom, Dad and Laura picked us up in the boat, and we had dinner out on the water! Here is a picture of Mom and Laura cheesin' for the camera!

Then, I got Mom to take a picture of me and Kenan, with the lovely sunset behind us. It was really hot that day, thus the ponytail!

I tried to get one of Dad and some fireworks (they were soooo beautiful!), but the batteries ran out on the camera! Shucks! Anyway, hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Driving to the Airport

Last weekend my friend Michelle came in from North Carolina! It was great to see her, and I really enjoyed getting to spend some time with her. She flew into Houston Hobby Airport, so it was just me, my cherries and Kenan's digital camera all the way to H-Town.

Me and my Cherries

Whew, look at that storm brewin' a little northwest of me! Glad I'm not there!

The Storm

Just a little bored on the straight-a-way from Winnie to Baytown!

A little bored

Once arriving at the airport, it was very easy to find where I should pick Michelle up!

Passenger Pickup

Of course, I got there as soon as her plane landed, so I had to make about five or six laps around the airport while waiting, but it wasn't too bad...I got to see this water fountain......five or six times!

Water Fountain

Okay, okay! So I know the suspense is just killing you right now. Where the crud is Michelle? Well she actually took this picture with her camera. I stole it from her myspace site! ;) I just made it black and white! Thanks, Michelle!

Me and Michelle

That night we went to see The Red Airplanes play in Orange, Texas. We had a fun time! Love ya Shellie! Oh, and if you think Michelle is hot, you should check her out! HAHA!
