Whatta Weekend!

So I had a really great weekend! I had the opportunity to escape life and went out-of town to visit some old friends! It was quite a journey. I left Friday afternoon around 3:00. I wasn't really looking forward to the four hour trip, but I knew I would be glad I took it, once I arrived in Quitman, Texas.

Oh, and I had an experience on the way up there. I'll tell you about it. I was in the left lane, and a big monster white pick-up truck was in the right. We were slowing down as we began to enter the next hick town on this trip. I look ahead and see something gray dart out in front of this white truck, and then BAM! This unknown creature gets hit, and flops over in my lane, and I had to swerve to miss it. It totally shocked me, especially because when I got closer, I saw it was a cat. It was really sad...Anyway, that was just a side note.

I'm borrowing my parents digital camera for the time being, which means pictures are here! Hopefully I'll get a new camera for Christmas or my birthday.

Anyway, I went up to Quitman to visit my good friend Heidi. She just had another baby, Kelaiah Faith Lee! She's the cutest little thing! Wouldn't you agree?

I snapped another photo with big sister, Moriah giving Kelaiah sweet kisses!

Here is one of me holding her...she's so tiny!!!

On Saturday, as I was getting ready, Moriah (along with Isaiah and Elijah) were huddled around me as I put on my makeup. Apparently, they were enamored with the whole process. Moriah wanted me to do her makeup, so of course, I indulged in making up a precious 3-year old child!

I had a great time visiting with Heidi. Man, we go way back. I really enjoyed seeing her beautiful children, including her new bundle of joy, Kelaiah.

For the end of my trip, I hung out with a long-time friend, Bryan. (We were wanting to hang out when I was up there during our evacuation, but we got to go home quicker than originally thought. So we didn't have time to hang out.) We watched a movie (which was hilarious), and ordered some pizza. (Thanks again for the pizza, Bryan!) I had a good time.

Oh, and the gas prices are totally lower in the Quitman area. (Even though I don't really know you, Kent, this is for you, because I know how much you enjoy hearing about gas prices...hahaha) Here in Beaumont, they have lowered, but are still around $2.35-$2.45 a gallon. Further north, I saw some around $2.15, and saw one at $2.03. But the lowest I saw was at the Diamond Shamrock in Lindale, Texas. It was $1.99 a gallon! I haven't seen gas prices that low since...well dang, I don't remember the last time they were that low. Anyway, I pulled out my camera, and snapped a picture behind me hoping to catch it on camera to prove I wasn't making this up! The picture is a bit fuzzy because my friggin' tint job on my rear window is bubbling up. Ha!
Gas Prices

I left Saturday night around 8:15, and at about 9:45 the Sandman was hitting me upside the head. Man! I was seriously thinking of stopping to get a hotel room, because I didn't know if I would make it. But I didn't really want to stop, so I just kept going. I blared "Hillsong United" a couple times over. I spent some quality time with God on the way home. It was nice. And to top it off, I saw a shooting star! It was awesome!

"Low" gas prices, shooting stars and spending time with God... could it get better?

Right now I'm listening to Bart Millard's Hymned album... amazing. Simply amazing. But growing up in a Southern Baptist church I am whisked away to my childhood and it takes me back. Oh man, good times.

I've been seeing a lot of shooting stars myself here lately. I love it.

Uh.. .that's all I have.
